NHEPL is determined to make significant contribution in the Up-stream Oil & Gas Sector to enhance the Country’s economical scenario. NHEPL strives to make its contribution both as an operator and non-operator in the exploration and development environment. As an Operator, NHEPL has successfully started exploration activities in Sindh Province and is looking for other opportunities in different areas of Country.
ACTIVITIES
On March 3, 2007, NHEPL submitted bids on 4 blocks as an operator, located in Pakistan’s Sindh province. NHEPL bids were submitted jointly with Kuwait Energy Company (KEC). Kunri and Jherruck Blocks have been awarded to us.
NHEPL has also submitted four new applications to the Government of Pakistan for exploration blocks that may be included in the next bidding round.
KUNRI BLOCK
On June 05, 2007, NHEPL and KEC Joint Venture were granted Kunri exploration license located in the province of Sindh. In the three year program, the Joint Venture will acquire about 800 line Kms of seismic data and drill 3 exploration wells at a cost of more than US$ 16 Million.
CURRENT STATUS
All available G&G data has been purchased, and loaded on workstation. 2D seismic survey completed in April, 2008 and a total of 882 line Km data was recorded. Reprocessing of the vintage, and processing of newly acquired data has been completed and being interpreted on workstation. First exploratory well is planned in 1st quarter of 2010.
JHERRUCK Block
On January 31, 2008 NHEPL and KEC Joint Venture were granted Jherruck exploration license located in the province of Sindh. In the three year program, the Joint Venture commitment was to acquire 150 Sq Kms of 3D seismic data or 350 line Kms of 2D seismic data and drill 2 exploration wells at a cost of approximately US$ 9 Million.
CURRENT STATUS
All available G&G data has been purchased, and loaded on workstation. 2D seismic data (517 LKm) was recorded in 2008. Vintage and newly acquired 2D seismic data reprocessing / processing is completed and interpretation on workstation is continuing. First exploratory well is planned in 1st quarter of 2010.

NHEPL have successfully qualified the ISO 9001:2000 certification standard by Bureau Veritas. This expresses the strong commitment of Management and employees towards true implementation and practically demonstration of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Assessing the need of community in the area, NHEPL is planning extensive investment program to develop the local community in concession areas. The Company is also working with various universities and institutes to help develop and train the local work force to handle countries future needs.
